Krystyn Reid is a proven prosecutor with decades of experience and decision making skills necessary to make the communities of York and Poquoson safe. She has dedicated her entire career to prosecution in her community and developing partnerships to achieve successful outcomes in the courtroom.
Krystyn obtained her BA in Political Science from Fairfield University in 1997 and her Juris Doctor from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 2000.
She set roots in Tidewater in 2000 and has lived here ever since.
Krystyn began employment in the York/Poquoson Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in 2002 as a Domestic Violence Prosecutor. In 2007, she began prosecuting all crimes- felonies and misdemeanors, adult and juvenile, serious and less serious. She has extensive training in special victim prosecutions. In 2010, she was named a supervisor in the office and designated as a Career Prosecutor. She has extensive experience in all courts and has served as a Special Prosecutor in other jurisdictions. She has successfully prosecuted murders, rapes, robberies and carjackings. She has extensive experience with Jury Trials, Grand Jury proceedings and Multi Jurisdictional Grand Juries,
Krystyn has developed and maintained strong relationships with law enforcement agencies. She has always been available for legal queries 24 hours a day, responds to crime scenes at law enforcement request and frequently trains law enforcement officers in substantive criminal law and developing law. She has supported the Police Unity Tour annually for the past 20 years.
Krystyn is extremely involved in her community having served on the Board of Directors of Avalon and Seaford Bulldogs Football. She is currently a member of the York Republican Committee, the Republican Women of York County, York County Chamber of Commerce, Grafton Kiwanis, and the York/ Poquoson Sheriff's Advisory Committee.
Krystyn and her husband Jim have lived in York County since 2005 where they are proud parents of their sons, James and Ryan.
